The ET-5SEL is a very high specification stereo encoder with a built-in audio compressor limiter processor and more... it has been designed to enable one to integrate inexpensively a professional quality device with all necessary modes as explained below.
Further to a professional Stereo encoder the ET-5SEL provides additional functions such as audio compressor limiter , selectable audio baseband clipping mode, audio level meter monitor (measures deviation), loop through MPX output, three SCA inputs and balanced inputs.Due to the fact that the unit employs the MAX-291, an 8th order digital low pass filter, it provides excellent spectral cleanliness by eliminating all harmonic products from the 19KHz crystal oscillator in order to be compliance under any regulations. Additionally, high Q filtering is added in order to suppress audio level components above 15KHz to prevent pilot disturbances. The ET-5SEL provides a selecting pre-emphasis mode of 50us 75us, none, selecting on board,compressor limiter on and off, as well as on board stereo/mono operation which it can also be controlled remotely. It provides excellent channel separation and superb audio loudness performance that leaves nothing to be desired from other more expensive commercial stereo encoder processor units.
